Patricia Power lobbies federal legislative and regulatory issues on behalf of Bose Public Affairs Group clients. As Vice President – Federal Relations, Power represents corporations, local governments and tribal clients before Congress and federal regulatory agencies on a broad range of topics, but she has a particular passion for environmental, energy, climate and infrastructure issues.
Power works with her clients to create effective strategies designed to efficiently solve their problems and meet their goals. Using carefully researched and written position papers and background documents, she lobbies congressional authorizers and appropriators, White House officials, and Administration officials at agencies within the Departments of the Defense, Interior, Agriculture, and Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency. She works diligently to match the government’s needs and goals with those of the client. Using this “win-win” strategy, she has successfully secured legislation that provided funding, project or program authorizations, and tax benefits, for her clients, along with regulatory provisions and favorable permit decisions.
Prior to joining Bose Public Affairs Group, Power was a vice president of another Washington, DC government relations firm from 1996 to 2008. She also spent two years in the Office of Senator John Heinz (R-PA) as a legislative assistant for environmental and energy issues. In addition, Power worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water and Office of Legislation as an attorney-advisor, drafting legislation and regulations affecting the Clean Air Water Act implementation and toxic tort studies required under Superfund, as well as a consultant to EPA on solid and hazardous waste regulations.
Power is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. She graduated from American University, Washington College of Law in 1984. Power holds a B.A. in economics and political science, magna cum laude, from Adelphi University.
Power is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of Environment, Energy and Resources and has served as a co-chair of the State and Regional Environmental Cooperation Committee and is a member of Women in Environment, a professional organization based in Florida.
