Principal, Managing Director of Government Relations
Trevor Vance is a principal with Bose Public Affairs Group and managing director of government relations. He serves the needs of the firm’s clients using his several years of political experience by focusing on policy development, procurement and legislative lobbying in the state legislative arena.
Vance has experience representing a myriad of issues ranging from energy, financial institutions, environmental regulations, worker classification, as well as matters affecting food and beverage manufacturers in the legislative and regulatory realms. The Indiana Society of Association Executives has honored Vance in the past with their Award of Excellence in Government Affairs for his efforts on behalf of Bose clients.
Prior to joining Bose Public Affairs Group, Vance served eight years as the Manager of State Affairs for the Indiana Statewide Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc. In this position, he represented the association and its 39 independent member systems before the Indiana General Assembly and various state agencies.
Before working for Indiana’s rural electrics, Vance spent several years at the Indiana House of Representatives working his way up to the role of Senior Legislative Assistant. In this role, he was responsible for the coordination of the Democratic caucus legislative assistants in the daily activities of 53 state representatives’ legislative offices. He was also responsible for the direct management of the offices of House Chairmen James Bottorff (Commerce), Michael A. Dvorak (Courts and Criminal Code), Markt L. Lytle (Natural Resources) and W. Dale Sturtz (Environmental Affairs).
Vance earned his bachelor of science in political science, with a concentration in pre-law, from the University of Indianapolis. While attending the University of Indianapolis, he served as a legislative intern for State Representatives Markt L. Lytle, David Copenhaver, James Bottorff, Paul Robertson and Dennis Heeke and was responsible for policy analysis, constituent relations and other office assistance.
Appointments / Memberships
Vance serves on the Board of Governors for the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana (GASI). This organization was formed for the purpose of encouraging and assisting lobbyists in maintaining a high degree of professional and ethical conduct in all transactions with governmental entities. He also serves on the board of directors for the Youth Enhancement and Training Initiative (YETI). YETI is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to donate to an orphanage in Nepal, while also using a portion of donated funds to help underprivileged youth in Indiana.
